All presidential initiatives provided a total of 145 million health services benefiting 90 million citizens.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting on Tuesday with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Health and Population Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Presidential Advisor for Health Affairs Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din and Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Major General Ahmad Al-Azazi.
Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said the meeting reviewed the development of the health system nationwide.
The President was briefed on the progress realized so far in national health projects and the timetable for accomplishing each project, including the Dar El Salam Cancer Hospital Harmal in cooperation with the world’s most prestigious medical institutions in order to become an international center for tumor treatment.
The talks also reviewed a project to develop the Nasser Institute into an integrated medical city in addition to the establishment of a new heart institute abiding by international standards to promote the role played by the National Heart Institute which is a medical edifice specialized in health diseases.
The President was also briefed on the progress realized so far in implementing the comprehensive health insurance system.
President Sisi gave directives to intensify efforts to develop the health mechanism in Egypt, spread services of health initiatives in various governorates, and increase services in needy villages.
Sisi underlined that taking care of people’s health is a top priority for the state, noting that the state is doing its best in collaboration with the local and foreign private sector to secure needed resources to improve health services, realize financial and operational sustainability of new projects and develop the already established ones.
